Here Tania and Pam have put together a few of their most frequently asked questions.


If you are unfamiliar with the service that Mobile Hairdressing offers, you may find the following information very useful.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We prefer payments made by Eftpos, but we also accept cash or cheque. Internet banking is also available by prior arrangement.
Please note that we do not accept credit card payments.


Do you have a minimum appointment fee?
Our minimum appointment fee is $30.00. This comes into effect in the case of children's haircuts, eg: if you make a booking for one child's haircut, the cost will be $30.00. However if you make a booking for more than one child, or an adult and a child, the child's cut will be our standard list price of $15.00.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Wash your hair beforehand if possible, but all you really have to do is be there.

Do I need to supply anything?
You will need a chair to sit on - a dining, or office chair is best. Depending what your appointment is for, you may also need to supply access to water and electricity. Everything else Tania will bring with her.

Why must I book a consultation before my colour booking?
As our business is mobile, we do not have the space to carry a full range of colours at all times. Having a consultation a few days before your colour booking gives us time to ensure your chosen colour is in stock and ready for you. It also gives both you and your stylist the opportunity to discuss what your requirements are. This will help ensure you get the colour result you desire.

★  Should I wash my hair in preparation for my colour booking?
If you have any product in your hair (eg: mousse, gel, hairspray etc) you will need to wash it out. However as most forms of colour are applied to dry hair, you will need to ensure your hair is dry by the time of your booking.

When you cut my hair will you dry it off afterwards?
We will be happy to. However a dry-off does not automatically come with a haircut, so you must let us know your requirements during the booking process.

Can I get a booking straight away, or do I need to book in advance?
Most times you will need to book a week or so in advance, and even earlier during the Christmas season (October to December). However there are times when you may be successful in getting a booking sooner, due to cancellations etc.

What areas of Auckland do you travel to?
We travel from Whangaparaoa to Papakura and everywhere in between! But as we are based in West Auckland, some areas may incur an extra charge to cover our travel costs.

I will be visiting Auckland to attend a function. Are you able to style my hair at the hotel/motel?
No problem. Just remember to book in advance to ensure we are available on the date you require. Please be aware that any bookings at a hotel or motel may incur a parking fee.

I work long hours and find it difficult to get to a salon. Can I arrange for Tania to see me at my workplace?
Sure! We will be happy to travel to the location of your choice. That means your home, workplace, rest home, hospital, hotel or motel - whatever works for you!

What should I do if Tania is late for my booking?
Please be patient. Tania does her best to arrive on time, but can often be held up due to traffic etc. If it looks like there may be a delay of 15 minutes or more, either Tania or Pam will call to inform you.
